The front of this one-of-a-kind quilt is made of cotton/linen blend, 100% linen and cotton canvas textiles that have been hand dyed in a natural, chemical-free indigo vat. Much of the quilt is made with pieces of fabric left over from other projects. Repurposing remnant pieces is one way the studio stays as close to zero waste as possible.
The back of the quilt is made of light indigo dyed cotton/linen, dark navy cotton and flax colored cotton/linen.
The quilt is throw sized (approx 58” x 58”) The front and back were machine pieced, meaning the patchwork is machine sewn. The quilting, meaning the stitches running throughout, were entirely done by hand with indigo cotton sashiko thread. Hand quilting is a very laborious and time consuming process but the impact of the hand stitches cannot be mimicked with a machine.
The binding is mixed indigo shades and was also sewn by hand.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
It's best to display quilts away from direct sunlight. Some natural dyes are sensitive to sunlight which can cause fading.
Vacuuming the quilt with a stocking over the vacuum hose is an easy way to remove light dust.
For a deeper clean, professional cleaning is recommended.
For most quilts it is possible to clean by soaking in a tub and handwashing with care using a gentle detergent. Rinse and remove the excess water. Lay flat to dry out of direct sunlight. Hanging the quilt to dry will put strain on the stitches.
Please do not machine wash.
